There's never a quiet moment on the music practice blogosphere these days
Gone is the time a couple of years back when I could go for a couple of weeks without seeing anything related to music practice written.
That's a good thing! Perhaps the message is finally getting out there
Here's a selection from the last few weeks for your enjoyment:
- Always one to provide help for students and teachers Natalie at the Music Matters Blog provides some advice for Identifying problem spots.
- Gerald Klickstein discusses internal and external motivation as ways to be self motivated.
- More tips on how to practice scales from the Practice of Practice Blog.
- Getting There discusses something that many don't consider practising - arrangement.
- In NLP circles much discussion is had around role modelling. Thomas J West discusses how this might be applied by musicians.
- Mastering the art of teaching instrumental fingering is something that many struggle with. Music Ed Magic has some advice.
- David Motto of Motto Music provides 3 "C's" to help with communication in lessons.
- So why should you learn music theory? Getting there explains why.
- Much like our own Holiday practice projects, Horn insights provides some ideas on what you could practice over the summer.
- A subject of particular insterest to wind players is breathing. Learn Theory Music supplies some thoughts on deep breathing.
Finally, I really enjoyed this list of musician pseudonyms at the Savvy Musician blog. Have a look - it will put a smile on your face
