A Year in Bass - Week 6 - Plateaus
This week I outline a couple of exercises which have plateaued. This is common for musicians and if you continue to practice in the right way should resolve itself.
Show Notes
New music for this coming week:

This coming week I'll be working on some motown pieces on the back of the Jameson book.
I've finalised the list of players I'm going to be studying over the rest of the year. These are guys that play the style of bass I want to play. I'll be listening, studying and transcribing in an attempt to learn from them:
- Sep - James Jamerson
- Oct - Paul McCartney
- Nov - Francis Rocco-Prestia
- Dec - Stanley Clarke
- Jan - Ray Brown
- Feb - Charles Mingus
- Mar - Larry Graham
- Apr - Jaco
- May - Victor Wooten
- Jun - Ron Carter
- Jul - John Pattitucci
From the Friedland book I'm moving into part 2 - scalewise motion to start with.
From Fingerstyle Funk I'm moving on from the simple picking exercises to some of the more difficult (but more tuneful) exercises.
I'm continuing with the fretting hand exercises this week. Again from active bass - look for lesson 17015 - This has been giving the left hand a real workout :tired
