About ZoeLifeMusic

Name:
Zoe Godfrey
About Me:

Music has been part of my life since I was born.  I'd fall asleep as a child listening to my Dad play classical guitar. At the age of 5, I began my own musical journey when I received a 3/4 size guitar for a present

I began learning the Clarinet through school provided lessons when I was 8 or 9, and then piano lessons followed shortly afterwards for me and my sisters.

Music hasn't always had my main focus in my life, due to a rather unfortunate personality clash between myself and a piano tutor when I was younger. It put me off piano - or any music lessons for a long time. But still I continued to play - for fun and personal enjoyment.

It didn't last long though - I found some new mentors for my music who were fabulous and sparked my interest in continuing my music progression.

Recently I've been asked to partake in a few local theatre shows - by being part of the 'band' or orchestra. The most recent was South Pacific in which I played Clarinet, and the next one upcoming is The Full Monty in which I'll be tinkling the ivory! (Piano!)

Here I am, a few years down the road with nearly 30 years experience in music. And, as part of my journey I now pass this skill onto other people who wish to let out their musical side!

The lessons I give are fun yet practical. Each tailored to the students natural ability, their aims, learning styles and available practice time.

Also, as a licensed Hypnotherapist and NLP Practitioner, I do tend to be more of a music 'coach' than a music teacher.

After so many years, it's fabulous to know that music is in my nature, and I don't have to deny it or forgo that for anything else!
